Prime Minister interacts with 10 states on imminent issues of flood and COVID
Mr. Modi emphasized early forecasting of weather to avoid major losses. For COVID, he said that precautions should be taken during COVID eradication efforts.
Mr. Modi spoke to 10 heads of states, which includes Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Bihar, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. The major agenda was the imminent threat the states are facing like floods due to excessive rainfall and COVID.
The interaction happened on video conferencing amid the COVID outbreak, the 10 chief ministers of the states will be discussing the challenges and will suggest the way forward to the Prime Minister. Till now this will be the 7th meeting of the minister with Mr. Modi.
Prime Minister is accessing the plan of action of these states against floods and COVID outbreak. He also will overlook how the center can coordinate and extended suitable help to the flood-stricken and major COVID hit regions. Assam flood situation will be looked into in priority whereas Maharashtra has the worst hit COVID scenario with over 5 lakh COVID cases resulting in 17757 deaths.
