Startup India Seed Fund’
The Prime Minister of India has launched Rs 1,000-crore ‘Startup India Seed Fund’ on 16 January 2021. The announcement was made while addressing the ‘Prarambh: Startup India International Summit’ 2021. The Startup India Seed Fund is expected to support startups in the need of initial capital to start and grow their business. The fund shall help budding entrepreneurs in pursuing innovative ideas.
Petroleum Ministry Launches Project 'Saksham'
Petroleum Ministry has launched a one-month-long mass awareness program to spread awareness regarding green and clean energy. The campaign has been titled SAKSHAM.
This campaign is being organized by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA). This is to motivate consumers to switch to cleaner fuels. This also aims to harbor behavioral change and use fossil fuel smartly. and bring in behavioral change to use fossil fuel intelligently.SAKSHAM stands for Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotsav, it is a pan India campaign.

The National Innovation Portal was recently launched.
National innovation portal (NIP) was recently launched by the Ministry of Science & Technology, NIP is developed by the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) – India. The National Innovation Portal (NIP) is currently housing about 1.15 lakh innovations, that have been scouted from common people of the country, encompassing Engineering, Human Health, Agriculture, and Veterinary. The Innovation Portal is a step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. It is an excellent repository for students, entrepreneurs, Technology Business Incubators (TBI’s), MSME’s, and common people engaged in a variety of occupations.

Third Phase of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna 3.0
The third phase of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 3.0) will be soon launched in 600 districts across all states of India. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), will lead this phase. PMKVY 3.0 shall focus on new-age and COVID-related skills. The Skill India Mission PMKVY 3.0 envisages training eight lakh candidates over a scheme period of 2020-2021. It aims to create a robust pool of skilled professionals

Task Force for implementation of the National Education Policy to be set up
The Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal recommended the setting up of a task force. This task force shall coordinate the implementation of the National Education Policy between the educational institutions. Formation of a review committee was also suggested, and an implementation committee, which is to be headed by the Higher Education Secretary to ensure speedy implementation of NEP.

Institutions of Eminence (IoEs) have received no objection to set up institutions abroad
Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs has given no objection to the Institutions of Eminence to set up campuses abroad. Following this, The University Grants Commission (UGC) has also amended its rules allowing the same. The amendments permit the IOEs to start a new campus with a maximum of three in five years and not more than once in an academic year. This is expected to provide impetus to the Indian brand of Higher education, helping them become world-class teaching and research institutions.

Jammu and Kashmir cadre is merged with AGMUT
The Central Government has passed an ordinance to the Jammu & Kashmir cadre for all India Services of the UPSE CSE with that of AGMUT- Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territory. The decision shall facilitate officers posted in these UTs and states to work in Jammu & Kashmir and vice versa. The aim of the step is to mitigate the shortage of officers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Central Government has formulated the New Industrial Development Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir
The J&K IDS, 2021 has been formulated by the Central Government for the development of Industries in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. The aim of this Centrally Sponsored Scheme is to take industrial development to the block level in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This scheme is the first of its kind Industrial Incentive Scheme of the Government of India. The proposed budget of the scheme is Rs.28400 crore which will be available for the period from 2020-21 to 2036-37. This scheme is expected to attract new investments in the Union Territory.

TRIFED to set up TRIFOOD Parks in Madhya Pradesh.
On the 3rd of January The Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India- TRIFED, under the Ministry of Triabal Affairs signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra to set up TRIFOOD Parks. The TRIFOOD Parks will be set up in 5 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Both the organizations are expected to work together by taking up the initiatives which will improve the lives of the tribal people. The TRIFOOD Park aims at the promotion of value addition to the minor forest product.

The Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare inaugurated the Virtual Agri-hackathon 2020in association with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa. It will the hackathon shall bring together India’s young bright minds, creative start-ups, and smart innovators who can come up with, fast and frugal solutions to tackle the challenges of the agriculture sector. TRIFED has initiated Marketing & Logistics intervention for promoting products of North –East.
Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has formulated a proposal. In this proposal, TRIFED will collaborate with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), and India Post to implement a successful marketing and logistic intervention. This aims to promote the rich and traditional tribal products from the North Eastern states of India. This initiative aims at creating a brand for products from North East and provide national and international access to the markets.
