5 Most Expensive Players Of IPL 2022 Mega Auctions

IPL Mega Auction 2022 was held on 12-13 February in Bengaluru. The 10 IPL teams invested over Rs 551 crore on 204 cricketers, including 67 overseas players, in the auction. Hugh Edmeades, the customary auctioneer for the IPL 2022 auction, fainted on the first day owing to Postural Hypotension, causing some disruptions to the two-day event. However, there was a disappointment as several big names, such as Suresh Raina, who made 5528 runs in 205 IPL games, were unable to find a bidder. Let's have a look at the five most costly players of the IPL super auction in 2022.

In the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Delhi Capitals invested 10.75 crores for Shardul Thakur. At the same price, Harshal Patel (RCB), Wanindu Hasaranga (RCB), and Nicholas Pooran (SRH) were auctioned.

In 2015, Thakur appeared in only one match for Punjab Kings against Delhi Capitals. In IPL 2017, he played 12 games for Rising Pune Supergiant before joining CSK, where he spent 4 seasons and earned two titles. Thakur delivers a variety of skills to the table, including the ability to bowl in the middle overs and prevent runs in the slog overs. He can contribute to his team's outbursts and serve as a finisher at the bottom of the batting order.
