Top Bollywood Controversies Of 2021 That Shocked Everyone

The year 2020 left the whole world reeling with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and impact on bollywood wasn't any different. While many lost their livelihoods, others lost their loved ones. While 2021 did come with a better prospects for bollywood but many controversies also took centre stage, from web content coming under the scanner, to a superstar’s son being arrested, here's a look at all controversies that shocked the Indian film world and its fans as well.

Shilpa Shetty's spouse and a businessman, Raj Kundra was arrested in July 2021 for allegedly generating and sharing pornographic material. Umesh Kamat, the executive of a UK-based production business that was distributing such material, was apprehended by police. Raj Kundra was arrested because of his claimed ties to Kamat and the company that posted the pornographic content, according to an officer. The criminal branch also executed a raid at their Juhu home. Raj Kundra was granted bail on September 20 after nearly two months in prison. According to a police official reported in Mid Day, 'Shilpa Shetty maintained that the movies featured on Hotshot (Raj's app) are not pornography but erotica.' She insisted she had no idea what her spouse was up to.

The ED has interrogated Jacqueline Fernandez four times and also stopped her from leaving the country. This matter has reached the stage that numerous filmmakers are apparently interested in turning it into a web series.

There are suspicions that this series portrays Tamils on TV as terrorists in an attempt to delegitimise Sri Lanka's years-long civil war.

The 24 years old boy was detained along with a few others and charged with consumption and 'conspiracy,' among other offences, and was held in custody. Shah Rukh Khan went to Mumbai court to secure the bail, but the NCB fought him every step of the way until the Bombay High Court granted it on 28th Oct. SRK's followers celebrated his return outside the Mannat. Everyone expected Shah Rukh to speak out about the matter, but he never did, and the situation remains unchanged.
