Government of Madhya Pradesh launches ‘Yuva Shakti Corona Mukti’ Abhiyan
Madhya Pradesh government led by Shivraj Singh Chauhan has launched ‘Yuva Shakti Corona Mukti’ Abhiyan for making people aware vaccinations for preventing COVID-19 vaccination. Under this campaign the college students across the state will be given knowledge about appropriate behavior and vaccination for preventing COVID-19. The campaign will be administered by the Department of Higher Education and Technical Education in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare. A fully dedicated mobile application has also been developed for real-time monitoring of the campaign.

Three-day ‘Raja Parba’ festival commences in Odisha
The celebrations of Raja Parba have begun across the state for welcoming the agricultural year. The three day festival from 14th to 16th June, 2021 is also known as ‘Mithuna Sankranti’. The festival marks the end of summer and the beginning of monsoon. The celebrations are dedicated to Mother Earth (Bhuma Devi, wife of Lord Vishnu) and womanhood. The festival will conclude with Vasumati Snana (bathing of Bhuma Devi) on 17th June. Traditional cakes or ‘pithas’ are prepared and sold during the festival.

Govt. of Gujarat launches ‘e-Nirman’ portal and mobile app for the workers of unorganized sector
Government of Gujarat led by Vijay Rupani has launched ‘e-Nirman’ online portal and mobile application for the workers associated with the unorganized sector. The app or portal will facilitate online registration of workers and will provide them with smart cards so that they can avail the welfare schemes launched by the state government for the unorganized sector. The data of the workers will be directly linked to the ‘CM Dashboard’ via ‘e-Nirman’ portal for real-time monitoring.

Punjab becomes the 1st state to operationalize NFC-based e-IDs
Punjab has become the 1st state in India to make use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology based Electronic Identity Cards (e-IDs). The NFC e-IDs will be used as a primary authentication tool among the government officers and employees. The e-IDs will operate at a frequency of 13.66 MHz with a data transfer speed of 424 kbps. The card holders will be authenticated by their Human Resource Management System (HRMS) data stored in the form of their service book.

Bhupesh Baghel launches Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme in Chhattisgarh
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel has launched Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme in the state for protecting the environment. This scheme will encourage plantation on private land and will also maintain the water table. The newly launched scheme will also aim at increasing the income of the farmers through agroforestry. It will be linked with the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Under this scheme, the paddy growers across the state will be given a sum of INR 10,000 per acre for the next three years for replacing their paddy crop with trees.

Government of Haryana launches ‘Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme’ and ‘Oxy Van’ initiative
Government of Haryana led by Manohar Lal Khattar has launched ‘Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme’ (PVDPS) for honoring the trees that are 75 years old or above for producing oxygen and reducing pollution. The government has announced a tree pension amount of Rs. 2,500 per year making it the first-of-its-kind scheme. The state government has also launched Oxy Van initiative for planting around 3 crore saplings in a year on 80 acres of land in the cities of Haryana.
Assam govt. renames its DST as Dept. of Science and Technology and Climate Change
Government of Assam has renamed its Department of Science and Technology as Department of Science and Technology and Climate Change. The main objective behind this was to bring its focus on the matter of climate change and also make its citizens aware of the consequences of climate change. Assam government is also setting up biodiversity parks in 28 districts of the state for increasing the forest cover under the name of ‘Sahitya Manishi Upaban’.
Government of Jammu & Kashmir launches YounTab scheme for the students
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur launched the YounTab scheme for encouraging students to adopt digital learning. As a part of the 1st phase of the scheme, tablet PCs were distributed among the students of Class 9th to 12th. The UT government aims to benefit a total of 12,300 students. The scheme will bridge the digital divide between the connected and unconnected and mitigate disruptions in learning due to the ongoing pandemic.

Nitish Kumar announces 33.3 % reservation for girls in medical and engineering colleges
Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar has announced 33.3 % reservation for girl students in medical and engineering colleges across the state. Bihar’s CM said that the decision will encourage the girl students towards pursuing technical education. Bill for the establishment of proposed universities and engineering colleges in each district of the state has been proposed in the Cabinet of Bihar. The reservation for girls will also promote Bihar’s educational equality based on gender.
Food Processing Minister virtually inaugurates Indus Best Mega Food Park in Chhattisgarh
Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Narendra Singh Tomar has virtually inaugurated Indus Best Mega Food Park in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel and Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Rameshwar Teli were also present in the inauguration ceremony. The main aim of the mega food park is to increase the shelf life of the farm produce and ensure better price realization and better storage facility for farmers across the state.

Jammu & Kashmir government partners with Go Air for transporting agri-products
Jammu & Kashmir government has signed an MoU with Go-Airlines for transporting perishable horticultural and agricultural products across India. The MoU was signed in the presence of Navin Kumar Choudhary, Principal Secretary- Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Horticulture. Items like Cherry, Plum, Apricots and Apple will be transported from Srinagar airport to all parts of the country. Go-Air emerged out as the lowest bidder for the transportation contract.

Government of Goa launches Solar Electrification Programme for rural households
Government of Goa led by Pramod Sawant has launched Solar Electrification Programme for the rural households across the state. The programme has been initiated by Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL). The program has been launched to provide electricity generated by renewable sources of energy to the areas with poor connectivity to the power grid. It is the first ever off-grid electricity project of CESL. Under the program, Photovoltaic systems will be installed and maintained for the next five years.
