Highlights of the Global Yoga Conference 2021

The Global Yoga Conference 2021 was organized by Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan in partnership with Ministry of AYUSH and Indian Council for Cultural Relations. The inaugural ceremony of the conference was addressed by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan. The conference was held ahead of the 7th International Day of Yoga falling on 21st June, 2021. Dr. Harsh Vardhan emphasized on the way yoga helped people in staying fit and building a stronger immunity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highlights of the 47th G7 Leaders’ Summit 2021

The 47th G7 Leaders’ Summit 2021 was held at Cornwall, United Kingdom from 11th to 13th June, 2021. The theme of the summit was ‘Building Back Better’. As a host of the summit, United Kingdom invited India, Australia, South Korea and South Africa (members of Democracy 11) as guest countries. The summit was also called as the ‘Outreach Session of the G7 meeting’. It was the first Net-Zero summit of G7 nations. Apart from the G7 nations, the guest countries also signed ‘Open Societies Statement’ that supports ‘Human Rights for All, both online and offline and Freedom of Expression’. The leaders of G7 nations issued the Carbis Bay Declaration.

Germany hosts the 8th Global Nitrogen Conference

Germany hosted the 8th edition of triennial conference of the International Nitrogen Initiative (INI) virtually scheduled from 31st May to 3rd June, 2021. The main focus of the conference was Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference was organized by Federal Environment Agency of Germany. It was attended by 800 scientists from 60 countries and other officials. The conference was also addressed by UN Economic Commission on Europe, UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
