It has been manufactured at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency.
LCA Tejas aircraft can carry the same array of modern weapons that bigger warplanes are able to carry.
Tejas has many advanced features like: Beyond Visual Range Missile capabilities, Air-to-Air Refuelling system.
The military aviation regulator had given the initial operational clearance or IOC to LCA Tejas in 2013.
The naval variant of Tejas fighter jet conducted its first successful ski jump take-off and arrested landing on INS Vikrant.
