Audi Brand History: The Story of The Four Rings

During the decade of the 1970s, the Audi 50 was introduced after a quest for small economy class with affordability in mind.

Audi is always crash-testing cars for safety, it began when predecessor company DKW rolled F7 down a hill to see the impact.

The 4 rings on the Audi logo are representative of 4 Auto Union AG companies – Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer.

Audi intends to send a Lunar Rover powered by Quattro to the Moon, mission was originally planned to be accomplished in 2021.

In 1980, Audi introduced all-wheel drive Quattro System in its cars, which gave Audi cars a competitive edge over others.

In 1921, Audi was the first automotive company that introduce a left-hand drive vehicle in its model K-Type.

Audi were first to use a dual-clutch gearbox, many modern high-performance cars now offer quick-shifting automatic gearboxes.

Only 120 best workers are selected by Audi to work on its prestigious R8 assembly line in Neckarsulm, Germany.
