E-commerce Giant Amazon Laid Off 2,300 Employees

E-commerce giant Amazon has already started layoffs. The company has given notice to about 2,300 employees.

The news agency Reuters reported that it is preparing to lay off employees from the USA, Canada, India and Costa Rica.

Amazon Inc is set to begin its largest-ever layoffs in history with plans to let go 18,000 employees.

With post Covid era the growth of online sales slowed down, the company started to cut costs.

The fear of economic recession has also prompted the company to take the decision.

Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy announced last month that the decision to lay off employees had been made.

The decline in online shopping and people coming back to retail stores for physical off-line purchases has hurt revenues.
