Local Dishes From Arunachal Pradesh For All The Foodies

Smoked meat of Mithun is one of the main delicacy in Arunachal Pradesh, the meat is slow cooked over smoked charcoal.

Bamboo shoot is widely eaten all over the North Eastern States, they are used in pickles, boiled vegies, chutneys, meat etc.

Lukter is another mouth-watering side dish, made with cooked dry meat and chilly flakes from spiciest chilli, Bhut Jolokia.

Chura Sabji is a spicy curry made with fermented yak or cow milk's cheese with a sprinkle of Bhut Jolokia chilli flakes.

Apong is a local home-made alcoholic beer made from fermented rice typically served with bamboo shoot to enhance the flavor.

Pika pila is a variety of hot pickle made from bamboo shoot and pork fat, smoked meat and a dash of Bhut Jolokia chilli.
