Mysteries About The Isolated Andaman Sentinel Islands


The Sentinelese are 15-400 in number, they are short people 165cm tall with dark shiny skin and teeth, with strong muscles.

North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands that survived the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.

Visiting the North Sentinel Island is prohibited under by the Indian government. The area is patrolled by the Indian Navy.

The people of North Sentinel Island have been living on this island for about 60,000 years. Their ancestors didn't go out.

The Sentinelese language is not known by anyone outside of their community. Their language is an absolute mystery.

The Sentinelese people are healthy and vibrant but at the same time vulnerable to modern illnesses.
