Kerala is all set to get its first water metro system on 25th April 2023. It will be very efficient for city like Kochi.
The Kochi water metro is the unique urban mass transit system and ease of travel as that of the conventional metro system.
The service would begin from High Court to Vypin Terminal to Vaytilla and Kakkanad terminals.
The commuters will be able to reach from High Court to Vypin terminals within 20 minutes without getting stuck in traffic.
The minimum ticket for a boat journey is Rs 20. There will be weekly and monthly passes for a regular passengers.
The Kochi water metro will connect to 10 islands along its route. It will run at speed of 8 nautical miles per hour.
Each boat costing Rs.7 crores can carry 100 passengers with seating capacity for 50 boats people.
The project intends to introduce modern, energy-efficient and environmental friendly and start with 8 high electric boats.
