Why Mothers Day Is Also Known As Mothering Sunday?

Mothers day is a special day dedicated for mothers and mother figures for their love and and contribution to family.

The day is observed on second Sunday of May in many country including, India, US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

It is time for children, spouses and other family members to show their appreciation and love for their mothers.

It is a time to recognise the hardwork, sacrifice, dedication that mother's make everyday.

History of mother's day back to ancient times, when the Greeks and Romans held festivals in honour of Mother Rhea.

Modern version of mother's day began in US in the early 20th century. It was initiated by Anna Jarvis for her mother Ann.

She started a campaign to establish a national holiday in memory of her mother, who had passed away in 1905.

In 1914, 28th President of America, Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designing 2nd Sunday in May as the Mother's Day.

The day become official holiday in U.S and quickly gained popularity in many countries in the world including India.
