Twitter evolve into the most important forums for public and political discourse in India like other big economies.
The shutting down of offices in India follows an exodus of workers since Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October last year.
This comes against the background of Twitter owner Elon Musk's mission to slash costs to keep the company afloat.
Twitter, which fired more than 90% of its roughly 200-plus staff in India, has closed its offices in New Delhi and Mumbai.
The company, however, continues to operate its Bengaluru — a tech hub — office that mostly houses engineers.
India is the third-largest audience for Twitter in the world, with 23.6 million users on the platform as of January 2022.
