Would You Ever Dare To Go To The North Sentinel Island?


The inhabitants are protected under the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Protection of Aboriginal Tribes Act of 1956.

Under this act, any form of travel to the island, and any approach closer than five nautical miles is strictly prohibited.

There is no data regarding the actual population of the North Sentinel Island, but is is assumed 100 Sentinelese are left.

Hunting and gathering are their primary means of livelihood. Weapons & tools used are mostly made of stone and animal bones.

Their local language Sentinelese is not known by anyone outside of their community.

The Sentinelese are one of the few tribes in the entire world that have been truly isolated from rest of the world.

Fiber strings, necklaces, and headbands made of vines are popular attires among them.

In 2018, an American by the name of John Allen was killed by Sentinelese on the island when he accidentally reached there.
